Draconic

The legends of Geos, like the legends of other realmspaces, have always included huge draconic creatures. Many scholars wrote these off as the war forms of elder fae. While it is true that many Elder Fae could assume a draconic form, the Fae were only copying the living dragons they had encountered in other realmspaces. Individuals who claim a draconic heritage are usually descended from either a dragon from a different realmspace, a Fae who spent too much time in its war form, or, more likely, from one of the draconian foot soldiers that Inritius magically engineered from trapped dragons and Fae.

  • Boon Cost: 500
  • Exp Adjustment: -20% (-40% if wings are selected)
  • Perfect Races: Reptilian Beastkin, Elves
  • Banned Races: None
  • Age Adjustment: Middle Age occurs at 70, Old Age occurs at 120, Venerable occurs at 200

Requirements

  • Characters must select an element to be associated with: Fire, Earth, Water, Air, Light, Darkness, or Ice.
    • Note: Elven characters cannot choose an element which opposes their racial element.
  • This heritage can be taken at any time.
    • Note: Regardless of when the heritage is taken, it should be reflected in the character's backstory from the time of character creation.

Costume Requirements

  • Draconic characters are required to show a scaled effect on most of their exposed skin. The hair and skin of draconic characters should give an indication of the element they are associated with.
    • Note: If this heritage is gained after character creation, the change in garb should be noticeable the following game.
  • In order to fly, a winged character must have wings of significant size: no less than half of the player’s arm span in the wings most open form. Characters can only fly up to 20 feet in height. Regardless of height, all ranged attacks can hit the character. Characters using fly cannot move faster than a walking pace. While ascending or descending they must concentrate and cannot use their hands for actions other than flying. Characters using fly cannot carry other players, unless their Strength is Rank 5 or higher and they have a method of holding that player without using their hands. Magical flight removes the need for costumed wings, but otherwise follows the rules for wings half an arm's length.
    • a character with wings of half of their arm span ascend or descend at a rate of 1 foot per step;
    • a character with wings which are equal to or exceed the player’s arm span ascend or descend at a rate of 2 feet per step.

Advantages

  • Instead of damage and for 10 halo, Draconic characters can deliver Darts of their elemental type by melee weapon. At High level and Epic level, they can deliver Bolts of their elemental type for 40 halo.
  • Draconic characters gain DR10 against their elemental type.
  • Most draconic characters have vestigial wings incapable of being used for actual flight; some characters grow wings capable of sustained flight. These wings allow characters to fly up to 20 feet high and at a walking pace.
    • Note: The ability to fly is only available to characters who choose this heritage at character creation and meet the costume requirements for wings.
  • Draconic characters have a naturally tough skin which provides them with Soak 2, this Soak does not apply to the Elemental type the Draconic character is Vulnberable to.
    • Note: This soak does not stack with soak from any other source and does not affect hits that hit the player's armour.

Disadvantages

  • Draconic characters are vulnerable to their opposing element; this means that they take 2x damage from it.
