Demonic

The seduction or rape of mortals is a common hobby of the demons of Hell, particularly of the Succubae and the Incubae, but this alone wouldn’t account for all the individuals with demonic heritage and it is common for any individual who makes a deal with a demon to pass on a demonic mark to their descendants.

Requirements

  • Demonic characters must select 1 of the 7 deadly sins to be associated with: Wrath, Gluttony, Sloth, Pride, Envy, Lust, or Greed. This association usually determined by the circle of Hell which spawned the demon who's mark they carry.
    • Note: Demonic characters can be of any alignment available; however, the sins they are associated with are often considered evil. It is up to the character to decided how they feel about their demonic heritage, but this heritage is often a slippery slope towards an evil alignment.
  • This heritage can be taken at any time.
    • Note: Regardless of when the heritage is taken, it should be reflected in the character's backstory from the time of character creation.

Costume Requirements

  • While there are no specific requirements, it should be possible to tell from a character's garb that they are demonically influenced: contact lenses, coloured hair, horns, a tail, or sinister makeup are suitable touches.
    • Note: If this template is gained after character creation, the change in garb should be noticeable at the following game.

Heritage Advantages

  • Demonic characters are able to tap into potent reserves which gives them the equivalent of the Burst of Strength skill. This ability gains power as the character's level increases: Rank 1 at Low level, Rank 3 at Mid level, Rank 6 at High level, and Rank 8 at Epic level.
  • Demonic characters can attempt to induce their sin of choice in others. This effect takes one minute of soft roleplay to initiate, uses Willpower (Offensive) and is resistible by skills-willpower-defensive. If successful, the effect lasts for 10 minutes or until the sin has been committed.
    • Note: Induce Sin only causes the target to want to commit the sin, if they truly believe it is wrong, they need not perform the act. The target should roleplay the effect of knowing that they had the desire to commit an act they know to be wrong.
    • Note: The act required to satisfy the sin need not be extreme, e.g. inducing the sin of gluttony may involve getting the target to eat an entire cake; however, inducing a character to commit an evil act is itself an evil act.
    • Note: If a demonic character takes the Hero Complex flaw, then inducing sin of any kind is a violation of the flaw. Similarly, if the demonic character takes any level of the Pacifist flaw, then inducing wrath is a violation of the flaw.
  • Demonic characters gain a +1 Constant bonus to Detect Persona.
  • Demonic characters may have retractable natural claws which must be represented by daggers. These are base 1 weapons which cannot be disarmed.

Heritage Disadvantages

  • Demonic characters find their particular sin almost impossible to resist when the opportunity arises.
  • Demonic characters are rejected by all things divine, regardless of the god in question. Demonic characters find the touch of divine symbols, places, and spells to be extremely painful. Demonic characters can never possess any ranks of skills-faith-specific.
  • Demonic characters consider Divine, Heartwood, Celestium, and Holy attacks to be Bane to them.
